Final account

When the guardianship comes to an end e.g. the adult dies or when the order expires, we will ask you to prepare a final account. This will either be a final simplified account or final standard account. We will tell you what the account period is when we write to you. When you send the account form to us you will need to enclose supporting information for the account period, such as:

  • bank statements
  • all contract notes for the sale or purchase of stocks and shares
  • receipts / invoices for purchases of individual items over the value of £100
  • award letters from the Department of Work & Pensions / Benefits Agency

Once the final account is approved you can apply to be discharged from your duties and responsibilities.
