If you are writing to inform us that a granter or attorney has died please note we can accept a copy of the original death certificate. As copies are sufficient there is no need to send us the original. Solicitors may notify us in writing and do not need to provide a copy of the death certificate. However please ensure that you provide the key details including the date of death

Section 19(5)(b) of the AWI Act states that the granter can request us to issue copies of the registered power of attorney (PoA) document to “not more than two specified individuals or holders of specified offices or positions”. Therefore if copies are to be issued please ensure any specified persons are identified in the PoA document either by name or as is more usual, by definition of ‘my attorney(s)’
