Guardianship & Access to Funds certificates of appointment

Oct 27, 2020

Due to COVID-19 contingency plans are in place, resulting in some of our work being adjusted to allow services to be maintained.

We currently have staff working in the office and a number of staff working from home. As our home workers process and produce work electronically, the certificate of appointment they issue will look different.

Therefore please note that these certificates of appointment do not carry the red seal and are not embossed. However the certificate will bear the watermark crest and a statement explaining the reason why the certificate looks different. Guardians and withdrawers (or their solicitor) will require to print the certificate in order to act on the powers. Staff working in our office will continue to issue embossed certificates with a red seal, which will then be sent out in the post.

If you have a specific query regarding this news item please email guardianship enquiries to Opgorders@scotcourts.gov.uk and access to funds enquiries to OPGATF@scotcourts.gov.uk. These are unprecedented times and we wish to maintain essential services to keep things moving. Thank you for your patience, understanding and co-operation during these times.
