Uptake
continues to fall short of the numbers anticipated originally. This is addressed with the proposed
legislative changes that will make the scheme more accessible. The rejection rate is still comparatively
high. To assist our customers we offer
advice and guidance on the application process and if required will assist
with the completion of the form. Our
guidance notes and information leaflets will be updated to reflect the new
legislation. |

The above amounts
represent the annual amount accessed by withdrawers. Care charges account for 79% of
expenditure. 'Other' can include
things like hairdressing, chiropody etc.
In addition to the above regular outgoings, withdrawers can apply for
one-off lump sum payments. This might
be to pay arrears of care charges or for example, the purchase of a single
item like a special chair or bed. |
