    Falkirk is a pedestrian and cycle friendly town, many areas of the town centre are pedestrianised and there is good local network of paths and cycle routes. The Office of the Public Guardian is approximately a 15 minute walk from the town centre through the stunning Callendar Park and a 10 minute walk from the town's main bus station. We welcome cyclists and provide 5 cycle parking spaces.




    Rail

    There are two main train stations in Falkirk; Falkirk High Station and Falkirk Grahamston. For timetables please click here.

    Falkirk Grahamston is located on Glebe Street on the Edinburgh - Dunblane and Glasgow - Cumbernauld - Falkirk Grahamston line. Services to local stations include; Stirling, Larbert, Camelon, Polmont, Linlithgow, Cumberbauld and Greenfaulds.

    Walking time from Falkirk Grahamston to the Office of the Public Guardian is approximately 25-30 minutes. Alternatively you can take a bus or catch a taxi.

    Falkirk High is located on High Station Road on the Glasgow - Edinburgh line, local stops are made at Croy, Polmont and Linlithgow and there is a daily service to London.

    Walking time from Falkirk High is approximately 30 minutes. Alternatively you can catch a taxi from the station taxi rank.

    Bus

    The nearest bus stop is a 2 minute walk from the office on Callendar Road. Local First Edinburgh Services 1, 2 and 38 make regular stops here.

    If you are travelling from outwith Falkirk regular bus services from Glasgow, Edinburgh, Stirling, Linlithgow, Denny, Polmont and Livingston run to Falkirk Bus Station on Falkirk High street; a 10 minute walk from the Office of the Public Guardian.

    Dial a Journey

    Dial-A-Journey is a door to door transport service for people with mobility problem run by Falkirk Council. If you are permanently resident in the Falkirk Council area you may use this service to go anywhere within the Falkirk, Stirling and Clackmannanshire Council areas.

    Taxi

    There are taxi ranks at Falkirk Grahamston and Falkirk High rail stations and at Falkirk bus station as well as in Falkirk town centre.




    Car

    Map

    Car parking at the Office of the Public Guardian is limited and we share car parking facilities with other occupants of Hadrian House therefore only available spaces in the car park marked OPG should be used.

    To help us minimize our impact on the environment, local parking and congestion we encourage you, where possible to travel on foot, by cycle, by public transport, by car share or to make use of the Park and Ride facilities at Carmuirs.

    If you are travelling to Falkirk from the West, Falkirk West (Carmuirs) Park and Ride is a convenient and inexpensive way to avoid the time and frustration of parking within the town centre.

    The Park and Ride site is protected by CCTV and has 300 spaces. Parking is free and between 7.30am and 6.00pm buses run to the town centre every 10 minutes. For more information visit Park and Ride

    Car Share

    Tripshare Falkirk and TripshareSestran are free services for people living within Falkirk and South East Scotland. The sites allow users to share journeys by car by matching them with others wanting to travel in the same direction. Log on and save money as well as helping cut down on congestion and pollution!
