Expedited renewal process welfare & financial appointment
- At least one medical report is required from a registered and licensed medical practitioner. Where the adult's incapacity is the result of a mental disorder a registered and licensed medical practitioner approved under Section 22 of the Mental Health (Care and Treatment) (Scotland) Act 2003 must complete the report. Click here to view the report AWI (1). This report must be completed within 30 days of the assessment taking place. The Sheriff has discretion to accept medical reports if older than 30 days.
- A mental health officer and the Public Guardian will both need to complete reports to comment on the need for the proposed order and the conduct and suitability of the guardian.
- Click here to view the report AWI (3). The mental health officer must complete this report within 30 days of assessing the adult.
- Although there is no prescribed time period for the Public Guardian to complete the report, this report should be completed within 30 days of the application being lodged at the sheriff court. Click here to view the report.
